We thought it would be interesting to show how many appointments the GPs and Practice Nurses at Mill Lane Surgery dealt with during the National Lockdown. From 23 March 2020- 30 April 2021 we did:

22,932 telephone appointments

3097 GP face to face appointments

688 Home visits

5702 Nurse face to face appointments

We have also administered 680 Covid vaccinations over 5 Saturday mornings and home visits from the Practice Nurse.

You may not always need to see a GP.  Our Practice Nurses and Healthcare Assistant run clinics throughout the week and can offer many types of treatment.  Please check with the receptionist to ensure that you book your appointment with the correct nurse for:

  • Blood pressure checks                  
  • Blood tests
  • Cervical smears                                
  • Diet advice
  • Ear syringing                                      
  • Flu vaccinations
  • Injections                                                           
  • Minor injuries
  • Removal of stitches                       
  • Travel vaccination                                       
  • Wound care

Monitoring of chronic diseases including: -

  • Asthma and COPD
  • Coronary heart disease
  • Diabetes
  • Epilepsy
  • Hypertension
  • Stroke

We will send you a letter inviting you to make an appointment for an annual review.  These reviews are normally carried out by the nursing team.
